Vancouver, Washington, is where the historic Academy building is located. The chapel is a three-story-high carved altar with a quaint balcony in the rear and stained glass windows in the front. In 1874 this French-Carpenter-Gothic Providence Academy building was opened as a Young Ladies Academy. In 1883, this chapel was finished and dedicated.
Amy and John, owners of The Art of Joy (formally AJ’s Studio) have photographed many weddings here. Besides the chapel, some of the best spots to photograph are the curved staircase leading to the second floor and the Academy building itself as a cool background.
